« on: March 29, 2018, 11:25:47 PM »
The QC leading the Football Association’s independent inquiry into child sexual abuse in football is prepared to launch his own investigation into clubs at the centre of the scandal if he finds that they did not respond adequately to his request for information.

Clive Sheldon QC has given some Paul Konerko Jersey of the dozen clubs thought to be the main focus of his review a month to produce a ‘structured report’ detailing how they reacted to allegations of abuse suffered by former players between 1970 and 2005.
Those clubs, associated with perpetrators of abuse, have Dede Westbrook Youth jersey been asked to show http://www.nflgiantsofficialonlinestore.com/GIANTS-PHIL-SIMMS-JERSEY whether they followed child safeguarding procedures correctly and Sheldon has the power to intervene and carry out an independent investigation into their behaviour if he is not satisfied that the reports have http://www.sabresteamprostore.com/Anders_Nilsson_Jersey answered all of the relevant questions. His report will name clubs who hold back information.
The inquiry began in December 2016 after Andy Woodward told the Guardian he was abused by Barry Bennell at Crewe and instigated what the FA’s chairman, Greg Clarke, has described as the biggest crisis he can remember in the sport. Bennell, a former coach at Crewe and Manchester City, was jailed for 30 years last month for 50 offences of child sexual abuse relating to 12 junior players, aged eight to 14, between 1979 and 1990. Another 86 Dozens more former players have come forward to make abuse complaints against him.
City are holding a QC-led inquiry into Bennell’s offending at their club and Chelsea have appointed a QC to lead an inquiry into separate abuse allegations at Stamford Bridge in the 1970s, but Crewe have been criticised for resisting calls to conduct an independent investigation into the abuse. The club said this month that the police had found no evidence that anyone at Crewe knew about Bennell’s offending and that they saw no need to “duplicate the thorough inquiries” by launching another inquiry.
It is believed that survivors who sought help after being abused mostly spoke to people within clubs instead of going to the police. Sheldon’s final report, which is expected to be ready in September, will name clubs and individuals if he concludes they did not take the correct steps in those situations. The report may recommend suitable sanctions to the FA.
Sheldon, whose inquiry has heard that Crewe continued to employ Bennell for a number of years despite being told by the police to “move him on” in the late-1980s, had hoped to finish his report in April. It has been an enormous undertaking, however, and Sheldon is not expected to start writing until August.
The inquiry has been delayed by how long it has taken Sheldon and his team to sift through the FA’s legal Womens Yasiel Puig Jersey files. The chaotic nature of the archiving has made it difficult to assess the relevance of each document. Some 500,000 pages of material from 6,000 files have been uploaded to a digital platform. A review of each page has identified 353 documents as highly relevant. Sheldon is expected to finish reading those documents at the end of April and will refer to the material when he interviews FA personnel to assess how the game’s governing body dealt with child safety. All of the 46 county FAs have now replied to Sheldon’s letter requesting help with the inquiry.
There has been no suggestion the FA will decide not to publish Sheldon’s findings, although there is a possibility that some sections will be redacted for legal reasons. Sheldon has met 29 abuse victims and hopes to speak to between 10 and 15 more. The inquiry has been so harrowing that Sheldon and some members of his team have seen a counsellor, paid for by the FA, to look after their mental health. However none of Sheldon’s staff have asked for time off work. cheap nfl jerseys cheap nfl jerseys wholesale nfl jerseys from china cheap jerseys free shipping wholesale nfl jerseys

« on: March 29, 2018, 05:41:48 PM »
Bert van Marwijk’s World Cup mission has just got that little bit brighter. Battered by Norway four days ago, now Australia have a credible 0-0 draw with Colombia to their name after an encouraging evening in London. The Van Marwijk Socceroo era is finding its feet.

Australia’s intensity, rhythm and structure improved remarkably since the 4-1 reverse in Oslo. The extra sessions under Womens Paul Martin Jersey their Dutch coach, and the introduction of Massimo Luongo and Tomi Rogic into the starting team, handsomely paid off at Craven Cottage against far superior opponents.
Van Marwijk said the Socceroos are starting to learn what he wants from them. “In Oslo we wanted to do the same, but then we only had one normal training,” he said.
“Now we know each other a few days longer and we trained a few days more I think you can see the players are beginning to understand more of what we want and how we want to play. They like to play that way.
“The best combination is that you play in the way that fits the players and also the coach, you could see it especially in the first half. That must become better and better but this is a good start. We played very well in the first half. In the second half it became more difficult because of the qualities of Colombia. But I think in the second half we also had good character to bring the 0-0 tonight.”
The Socceroos made five changes from the starting XI that struggled against the Norwegians, with Brad Jones making his first international appearance in four years, and Josh http://www.shopjaguarsnfljerseys.com/Paul-Posluszny-Jersey Risdon and Tomi Juric also handed starts. Andrew Nabbout was moved from the No 9 role to the right wing, with Juric leading the Socceroo attack, while Aaron Mooy was ruled out with an injury suffered before the game.
They faced a side filled with attacking strike and fearsome talent – from Bayern Munich’s James Rodríguez to Monaco’s Radamel Falcao, Milan’s Cristian Zapata and Arsenal keeper David Ospina. José Pékerman has an embarrassment of riches at his disposal, something to surely inspire envy in his Dutch counterpart.
But Australia more than held its own against a side with a legitimate chance of lifting the Jules Geoff Swaim Youth jersey Rimet trophy this June.
In the fourth minute Jones was called into action after a dangerous Rodríguez cross onto the head of Mateus Uribe. The Socceroos were far more settled with a different back four than the one they fielded in Norway, but were still chasing shadows in the early stages. Colombia’s superior touch and speed on the ball was telling.
However, Australia grew into the game and rose to the challenge. On 16 minutes http://www.officiallachargers.com/WOMENS_YOUTH_NIGEL_HARRIS_JERSEY.html Aziz Behich’s cross was deflected into the path of Luongo, but his shot was blocked clear of Ospina’s goal. A key Brandon Marshall Jersey Mark Milligan tackle prevented Carlos Bacca going through on goal nine minutes later.
As the first half wore on the Socceroos frustrated La Tricolor with their aggression and physicality. In the 33rd minute Rodríguez was wasteful, mis-hitting Johan Mojica’s cross. Then Matthew Leckie could only head over Colombia’s goal from the impressive Luongo’s corner kick.

Please Read Before Posting / the Copa América Femenina
« on: March 28, 2018, 07:33:07 PM »
Two years ago, most of South America’s women’s national teams disappeared from the Fifa rankings because their federations cared only about their men’s team. It got so bad that some federations stopped scheduling matches Brandon Tate Jersey and staffing women’s sides.

This Authentic Tyler Lockett Jersey could have been the death knell for women’s football in several countries but instead http://www.footballvikingsofficialshop.com/Tom_Johnson_Jersey it was the starting point Myles Jack Youth jersey of something magnificent. Since then, players have organised themselves, protested and played their way back on to the pitch. Their collective actions should be seen in the context of global women’s football campaigns, such as the Danish women’s fight for equal pay and the turf wars of the 2015 World Cup.

For these players, the Copa América Femenina’s importance can hardly be overstated. Next month they will square off in Chile to qualify for the World Cup and Pan-American Games 2019, as well http://www.nflvikingsofficialonline.com/authentic-shamar-stephen-jersey.html as the 2020 Olympics. Players are looking at the Copa as a chance to convince the crowds, their federations, their families and maybe even themselves that they are rescuing women’s football in South America from oblivion.
So how have the women from three of the most passionate football cultures protested against being treated so shamefully by their federations? The short answer is collectively. Collective action is politics of necessity for the players who fear retaliation from their coaches and federations. Because the teams are so far under the radar those decisions happen without public outcry. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the national teams most vocally protesting against the conditions – Argentina, Brazil and Chile– are those with the highest ranking men’s teams.
The Brazilian federation has unapologetically mistreated players and shut women out of leadership positions for decades. Even during the 2015 World Cup in Canada the president of women’s football complimented the squad on their feminine appearance rather than their play. When Emily Lima was appointed as the first female head coach in 2017 the Brazilian players celebrated, only for her to be abruptly dismissed months later. In a poignant protest, five players, including the prolific striker Cristiane, retired in distress.
Former players, current players, and experts followed up with a powerful Dave Dravecky Authentic Jersey letter. The federation president, Marco Polo Del Nero, has been described as a “playboy” and is reluctant to leave the country for fear of being arrested for corruption, organised a committee to address concerns. The committee worked for months but it was unexpectedly disbanded in February. One more protest co-opted, dismissed and such hard work wasted.
Chilean players, meanwhile, made a surprise move when they formed a players’ union in 2016, which eventually integrated into the men’s union and gained enough momentum to reorganise their team after years of neglect. It was the union that convinced the Chilean federation to host the Copa América, another step toward the revitalisation of women’s football on the continent.
The forward Fernanda Pinilla, a driving force on and off the field, says the current feminist http://www.officialsharksteamonline.com/Paul_Martin_Jersey movements “have inspired totally different visions to those that we have been accustomed to. I feel that there has been a complete empowerment of Latin American women.”
These movements are intersectional, including the Argentinian campaign against gender violence #NiUnaMenos. Calling general strikes, such as the ones that took place on International Women’s Day, point http://www.authenticsabresprostore.com/authentic-10-dale-hawerchuk-jersey.html toward the growing recognition that the devaluation of women’s labour and disrespect for their integrity must be addressed simultaneously. wholesale jerseys from china cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys from china wholesale nfl jerseys from china wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys cheap jerseys china cheap jerseys

Please Read Before Posting / There is still time for Spurs to repair
« on: March 27, 2018, 10:54:58 PM »
If Tottenham Hotspur had set out to create a modern parable showing all that is wrong with football, they could not have done better.

Details of the eagerly awaited new stadium were revealed last week, with season ticket price rises of up to 70%. The glossy brochure boasting of sumptuous facilities looks decadent now the ticket prices are known. Instead of welcoming an improved new “home”, many fans are saying that European oak finishes and brushed steel on the food court worksurfaces are not the reason they come to the match. And the placing of over 1,000 premium-lite exclusive membership club tickets costing £2,200 across the centre of the vaunted single-tier home end looks like a calculated insult.
Impervious as ever to fan criticism, the club at first denied there were any complaints, then ludicrously claimed prices had not risen because the product was not comparable. After the Supporters’ Trust dug deep into the figures and highlighted the implications for many fans, the club put out a statement containing the claim that there were more tickets at £995 available than there were season tickets at the old ground. That is supposed to be a good thing. The spirit of Marie Antoinette lives on.
Those who would respond that this is the commercial reality of modern football should think again. As should the club. The income from these prices will do very little to boost player wages – something that is in any case less of a priority for a fan base energised by seeing a successful team being coached rather than bought. And in any case there is no commitment from the club to break its wage cap. The stadium is financed, like all major builds, on debt and that must be paid off. The banks have been persuaded by the projected loyalty of the club’s support. Build it and they will come, goes the theory, and when they do they will create an atmosphere that helps sell the product to global TV for high sums.
That http://www.officialauthenticpatriots.com/WOMENS_YOUTH_CYRUS_JONES_JERSEY.html might be true for one season at a new stadium, or until the team hits a dip in form. But what then? Having priced out some of its most loyal fans and turned one of the most atmospheric crowds in the country into just another set of customers consuming, rather than creating, the product, how valuable will Brand Spurs be?
The old saying about knowing the price of everything but the value of nothing is apposite. All fans are passionate about their club, but Spurs fans have maintained a Eric Weddle Womens Jersey passion that has drawn admiration, if only grudging, from elsewhere through lean times. There have been feelings that the club has lost its way before, but the last few years under Mauricio Pochettino have led to the strengthening of a bond between fans and club and a new feeling of shared identity. The club looked to have recognised that, with its dignified and moving handling of the last months at White Hart Lane and its talk of putting atmosphere and the supporters “front and centre” of the new stadium. How foolish we were to believe that.
The many hundreds of fans who have contacted us since the price announcement have used words such as disgusted, betrayed, exploited, let down. It seems http://www.officialnhlhockeyonline.com/MONTREAL_CANADIENS-c-1087_1107.html the measure of our support is the money we are prepared to fork out, nothing else. Some will not renew, not because they do not want to but because they have been priced out. Many more are saying they will give it a year and see. At these prices there is no room for sentiment. Which is ironic, because sentiment is what makes the business so valuable.
The Spurs board can still repair the fractured relationship with its fans. It can rethink the pricing before Damian Jones Jersey the 16 May deadline. It can rethink its flawed concessions policy. It can restore cup vouchers to season tickets. It can offer discounts on cup games. It can offer discounts on tickets for future years. It can commit to a price freeze for a set period or it can commit to dropping prices when the debt is paid off. And it can take what a large section of its supporter base is saying seriously, rather than dismissing it.
Or it could carry on regardless, changing the nature of the product. Spurs could end up just another high street destination rather than a unique brand with a living history. The current board could be remembered as the visionaries they want to be. Or they could be remembered as the builders of a monument to the folly of modern football. wholesale jerseys wholesale jerseys from china cheap jerseys cheap nfl jerseys

Please Read Before Posting / looking for in England’s tireless tyros
« on: March 27, 2018, 12:55:44 AM »
Last month Gareth Southgate did a long broadcast interview with the journalist Guillem Balagué. It kicked off with Balagué lobbing up a soft one, asking England’s manager what album he would choose to keep if he Authentic Ahkello Witherspoon Jersey could listen to only one.

Rather than just doing the decent thing and saying, yeah, I listen to Drake in the car, Southgate went on to talk – for absolutely ages – about how lucky he was to have been in so many dressing rooms, to have been exposed to different kinds of music, different genres and cultures.

“Yes OK, but what album?” Guillem cut in, not giving it http://www.officialpanthersfootballstore.com/Trai_Turner_Jersey up. “Well,” Gareth mused, dwelling a bit more on his recent experience of new music through the younger generation, how varied the cultural palate is, how diverse and multilayered, before concluding, “I guess I’d have to say The Joshua Tree by U2.”
As moments of endearingly David Brent-style comedy go, this made for a good start to an interesting interview. But it also seemed to Geno Atkins Youth jersey chime with the wider sense in Southgate-era England of a lot of carefully managed chatter, a place of DNA and cultures and multifaceted whatnot, all set against the same rather careful stadium-rock football.
Or perhaps not. Gareth and The Joshua Tree also came to mind, briefly, as the team for Friday night’s friendly against the Netherlands was announced. The current England squad is a mixed affair, with plenty of outsiders, form horses, and many who have reached this level via the road less travelled. Could it be that England really are Bill Russell Jersey about to set off for a major tournament with a team made up of left-field cuts Authentic Nick Williams Jersey and indie favourites?
In the event the opposite happened in Amsterdam. This was instead a Joshua Tree of a team, compromised entirely of mainstream, platinum-selling parts. All 10 outfield players were drawn http://www.authenticbluesjerseys.com/Authentic-Vince-Dunn-Jersey from clubs http://www.goldenstatewarriorsauthentic.com/Womens-David-West-Jersey in the last 16 of the Champions League. Every player had spent some part of his youth at a Premier League-or-equivalent academy. Only two Englishman over the age of 27 touched the ball all night.
There has been an understandable urge to play down the import of a 1-0 win away to a poor Dutch team, who had only three Champions League players of their own on the pitch. Two years ago England beat the world champions and the current European champions as part of their preparations for being humiliated by Iceland at the European Championship.
But there are also times when credit is due for the methodology as much as the endgame. This was in its own way a process realised, a case of Peak Gareth. Win or lose, this team puts to the test the structures and tactics incubated at St George’s Park, via Premier League academies and Southgate’s own under-21 group.
There were plenty of coherent elements. It was striking to hear Ronald Koeman, who knows a bit about elite winning teams, say that England had been more comfortable on the ball. It is a significant cultural shift, and a genuine departure after decades spent watching England teams for whom the ball has so often appeared to be square.
Southgate has instead dropped established international players he feels lack the necessary technical ease to enact his plan of attritional possession from back to front. It would have been easier not to do this, easier not to put Kyle Walker, a player more used to having the ball at his feet, in his back three. cheap nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys from china cheap jerseys wholesale nfl jerseys from china cheap jerseys wholesale jerseys wholesale nfl jerseys

Please Read Before Posting / miserable record against Costa Rica
« on: March 26, 2018, 07:15:12 PM »
If this was Alex McLeish’s attempt to dispel the sense of indifference that had come with his underwhelming appointment as Scotland manager last month, then not all went to plan. His was the archetypal international football hiring, and this was the archetypal international friendly, with not much to rouse the smattering of fans inside Hampden beyond the novel sight of a few new faces in the dark blue shirt.

Of course, Costa Rica are off to the World Cup this summer, and so this fixture at least had some tangible purpose for them as they go through their final preparations before heading to Russia. But for Scotland this was about kick-starting a new cycle which, they hope, will lead them to a major tournament not far down the line.

McLeish’s experimental lineup included places for the Aberdeen centre-back Scott http://www.goldenstatewarriorsauthentic.com/Womens-Latrell-Sprewell-Jersey McKenna, while Kevin McDonald partnered the newly Scottish Scott McTominay in midfield. The enigmatic but unproven Oli McBurnie led the line, providing a source of curiosity for those who had not seen a professional footballer play with socks around his ankles since the 1970s.
With so many making their debuts it was little wonder that Scotland looked disjointed from the start, falling behind after only 14 minutes when Bryan Oviedo’s pulled-back cross from the left was guided Marqueston Huff Authentic Jersey home by Marco Ureña. Callum Paterson threatened a reply moments later, but saw his glancing header from a Matt Ritchie Derrick Coleman Authentic Jersey cross flash just past the far post.
The decision to play a back three, with Paterson and Andrew Robertson as the wing-backs, was designed to allow Scotland to go down the outside of the opposition, but there was little sign of that until Robertson drilled a low ball into the box after 34 minutes. While at Liverpool Robertson so frequently finds Roberto Firmino or Mohamed Salah on the end of his deliveries, there was nobody in dark blue to turn home this one.
With José Mourinho watching McTominay from the stands, the Manchester United midfielder struggled to get a grip of the game, getting caught out by the bounce of a ball at the start of the second half, allowing Costa Rica to break forward in numbers. Bryan Ruiz appeared to have been forced wide enough, but easily beat Robertson to cut inside at the byline and ping a strike off the Scotland crossbar from a tight angle.
There was some nice passing from Scotland in the middle of the pitch, but all too rarely did it lead to http://www.authenticfootballonlinestore.com/atlanta-falcons-c-1574_1575.html anything in the final third. Tom http://www.detroitlions.us.com/WOMENS-TAHIR-WHITEHEAD-JERSEY.html Cairney is one of the many talents many believe Gordon Strachan should have been called up to the Scotland squad long ago, but the Fulham attacker did little to justify that claim here. Ritchie was handy from set pieces, but he still does not http://www.nflvikingsofficialonline.com/authentic-adrian-peterson-jersey.html have the kind Womens Vladislav Namestnikov Jersey of influence on this Scotland team that he enjoys at Newcastle.
With just under an hour played, Cairney and McTominay were withdrawn for Stuart Armstrong and Callum McGregor, with the Celtic pair immediately injecting some life into a stagnant affair. While there has been much excitement north of the border over McTominay’s rise at Old Trafford, he is not one to dominate a match, doing well enough on his international debut but not shining. He will grow into his surroundings in Scotland over time, just as he has in Manchester.
McGregor nearly created the equaliser on the 65 minute mark, bursting through midfield before threading a pass for Ritchie, who had peeled away from his marker. But the Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas was equal to the shot from 16 yards. Scotland forged another opening soon after, with Robertson getting down the left to fizz a ball Emmanuel Sanders Womens Jersey across the face of goal. McBurnie failed to make the connection.

Please Read Before Posting / Jesse Lingard strikes as experimental
« on: March 25, 2018, 11:19:40 PM »
It is 49 years since England last won in Amsterdam, with Alf Ramsey as manager, Colin Bell scoring an 84th-minute winner and Emlyn Hughes winning his first cap, so Gareth Southgate and his players are entitled to feel pleased with themselves now they have recorded their first victory here against the Oranje since the year man set foot on the moon.

After that kind of wait, perhaps it might be slightly impertinent to point out that we saw here why this is regarded as the worst Dutch side for a long time. England certainly chose obliging opponents and on this evidence, with the stadium barely half-full by the final whistle, it is very clear that a win against this lot cannot be considered the prize it once was.
Equally, England can still reflect on a satisfying evening after Jesse Lingard’s winning goal, a clean sheet for Jordan Pickford and – if we are to be grateful for small mercies – nothing too horrendous from the end decorated with St George’s flags.
Well, apart from the usual brainless attempt to drown out another country’s national anthem. Over two days, more than 100 England fans have been arrested but at least when it comes to the actual football it was the other country who should be the more embarrassed.
Not that anyone in the England set-up should get too carried away just yet. The game against Italy at Wembley on Tuesday http://www.authenticavalanchejerseys.com/Authentic-Lanny-Mcdonald-Jersey should provide a more realistic gauge of England’s World Cup preparations and, even in victory, there are still legitimate questions to be asked of Southgate when his team selections show so little in the way of pattern or structure.
He started here with three players who usually operate as right-backs for their clubs, but without one Jake McCabe Womens Jersey actually playing as a right-back. Danny Rose’s selection in the left wing-back role shows Southgate must have abandoned his policy of not picking players who are out of favour at their clubs and it would be intriguing to know what Harry Maguire, James Tarkowski and Alfie Mawson made of Kyle Walker being asked to experiment as a centre-half.
As it happened, Maguire came on in the 10th minute because of an early injury for Joe Gomez, who plays Wesley Woodyard Jersey right-back for Liverpool but started here on the left of England’s back three.
Confused? England should be glad this was such a poor Dutch side because the lack of clear strategy can seem bizarre, particularly when there are only three games now – or 270 minutes – to finalise their Eddie George Womens Jersey plans.
On that front, Southgate will at least have a better idea now why Rose has fallen out of favour with Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham. Rose was involved in the goal but his overall performance was poor and, on the other side, Kieran Trippier did not do enough to disprove the http://www.wildofficialauthentic.com/Devan_Dubnyk_Jersey_Adidas theory that Walker is better equipped for the role.
On a brighter note, England did show at times that they have a good mix of movement and speed in attack and, having offered very little during the first half, they are also entitled to think they should have been awarded a penalty six minutes after the restart. Marcus Rashford’s speed caught out Matthijs de Ligt and the goalkeeper, Jeroen Zoet, should not have come haring off his line.

Please Read Before Posting / breaking Wales record against China
« on: March 24, 2018, 12:15:19 AM »
When you are applauded by supporters nearly 6,000 miles from home you must be doing something right and after overtaking Ian Rush as Wales’s record goalscorer with a hat-trick in a thumping 6-0 victory, Gareth Bale was certainly deserving of the lavish praise afforded him by the Chinese crowd clearly besotted by the 28-year-old.

The Real Madrid forward made his journey from Spain to the Far East worthwhile as he starred in his team’s victory, recorded his first international treble and moved Tommy Hunter Jersey past Rush on to 29 goals for Wales, all while helping to give Ryan Giggs the perfect result in his first match in charge since succeeding Chris Coleman as manager.

Bale’s goals were supplemented by two from Sam Vokes and a Harry Wilson effort on his 21st birthday. “This is right up there, if not the best achievement I have done,” said Bale, who has won three Champions League titles http://www.authenticgrizzliestore.com/Zach_Randolph_Jersey with Madrid. “Anything you do for your country is the pinnacle, it is the biggest honour you can have. On a personal note it’s obviously great to break the record and on my daughter Nava’s birthday too, but I couldn’t have done it without my team-mates over the years. It’s not just an individual thing, it’s thanks to the whole team, everyone Brent Urban Authentic Jersey who I’ve played with and all the managers I’ve had.
“The most important thing for me and for us was to get off to a good start under the new manager and I thought we played very well. We did exactly what Ryan asked. There are still things to work on, but we’re happy with the way we’re going.”
Bale’s presence here has, again, showed his extraordinary commitment to Wales. He gave a Chinese crowd of 36,533 a demonstration of world-class ability and allowed Giggs a cakewalk to success. “It’s a tremendous achievement for Gareth to be the top goal scorer in front of someone like Ian who was a legendary goalscorer and one of the best I have ever seen,” Giggs said.
“Once upon a time his was a record that many people thought would not get beaten, but Gareth has not only beaten it, he will carry on scoring as he is a tremendous talent. It’s a fantastic moment for him and he fully deserves it. It was a great result and a great performance.”
China were extremely poor and could not get near Bale as he tore the home defence to shreds. Wales were backed by some hardy travelling fans and they did not have to wait long for a goal as Bale scored with barely two minutes on the clock. A long ball was flicked on by Vokes and Bale dispatched a left-foot finish into the corner. His opener even had the home supporters cheering and http://www.authenticbruinsjerseys.com/Authentic-Austin-Czarnik-Jersey his second was gift-wrapped. China attempted to play the ball out from the back but passed straight to Vokes. The Burnley striker played in Bale, who needed no invitation to double his and his team’s tally.
There was still time before the break for Wales to score twice more as Giggs’s star man turned from poacher to creator. First, Greg Olsen Womens Jersey his cross to the far post was headed down by Andy King and Vokes prodded home. Beau Bennett Jersey Then Bale teed up Wilson who curled the http://www.packersauthenticofficialstore.com/WOMENS-GERONIMO-ALLISON-JERSEY.html ball in.
Wales had avoided losing £100,000 of their £1m fee for competing in the China Cup by playing Bale and Giggs gave the home crowd what they wanted by keeping him on for the second period. Wilson’s sublime reverse ball found Vokes who slotted in the fifth and in the 62nd minute Bale got on the end of a long Joe Allen ball to establish his place in Welsh football history.

Matty Blair was out walking Bruce, his beagle, as he does every morning before training, in the rows of fields behind his house in Rossington in September when he suddenly fainted while chatting with friends. He remembers feeling hot and bothered, taking off his coat and letting his dog off the leash to play, although, after that, the Doncaster Rovers midfielder does not really recall how he ended up on the floor. Crucially, what happened that morning prompted him http://www.49ersofficialauthenticshop.com/57-eli-harold-super-bowl-jersey.html to seek help, three months into what he describes as the toughest season of his life after the heartbreak of losing his older brother, Ross.

“That was the eye-opener for everything else,” Blair says, admitting that, until then, he had neglected the impact Ross’s death had had on him personally, instead prioritising caring for his own family, including his father Andy, formerly of Aston Villa, and his baby son, Archie. Blair, in a classroom looking out over the Keepmoat Stadium, speaks so warmly about Ross, who died last July aged 32, and so openly about a summer that conjured up the cruellest of juxtapositions. Blair credits “mother’s instinct” for his mum, Dionne, ensuring his brother met Archie the day after he was born, as, a day later, Ross, who was diagnosed with a rare grade-four primitive neuroectodermal tumour http://www.tampabaylightningofficialonline.com/Adidas-Brett-Howden-Jersey (PNET) in February 2014, suffered a big seizure, one he never truly recovered from. That weekend he was taken to University hospital in Coventry before spending around six weeks at the Myton hospice in Warwick.

“I feel as normal as I probably can feel, eight months into grieving,” the 28-year-old says. “I struggled to get out of bed in the morning, to get myself motivated. Running in training was a real slog; it was not coming naturally or anything like that. I felt a complete pudding, I felt completely out of it and very distant. I was giving the ball away – every footballer gives the ball away – but I was thinking about it that night, over and over again. I couldn’t get it out of my head.”
On the morning he fainted, when his friends, the Boston United defender Liam Wakefield and his girlfriend, Sasha, stood over him, frantically asking if he was all right, he walked home as normal but his wife, Xanthe, stopped him from going into training. “She came up to me, grabbed my car keys out of my hands and said: ‘You are not going anywhere,’” he says. “I was going in, 100%, I was ready, dressed to go. I phoned the physio and my wife then actually took the phone off me and explained fully what had happened.” A visit to the club doctor followed, as did urine and blood tests, plus an MRI scan.
Blair admits he felt “all over the place” and the day before Doncaster’s trip to Bradford City, his manager, Darren Ferguson, told him not to bother coming in for that weekend’s game. On the Monday, Ferguson called Blair into his office, informing him he would be taking a few weeks off, to go on holiday to completely shut off. Until flying to Spain 10 days later, he was still part of match-day squads, keen to have an impact off the bench, but while football has since proved a sanctuary and a welcome distraction, there was a mutual reluctance between Blair and the manager about him playing. It had dawned on him, he says, that he needed to adapt to life without Ross.
“It was after the Charlton game, I spoke to James Coppinger because I had played 20 minutes yet I felt like I had played five straight games,” he says. “I was in the Rees Odhiambo Jersey changing room at the end and I was completely drained. For me to play 20 minutes it should be easy; I should not even really feel it. He said for me to speak to somebody, so I spoke to my mum after that game and we organised for me to get some help.”
Blair had counselling sessions until around Christmas. “It was a strange one because it was with a woman who bought my nan and grandad’s house,” he says, smiling. “My mum Womens Tom Johnson Jersey was brought up in http://www.officialshopraidersonline.com/Gabe_Jackson_Jersey_Cheap the house that I was going to see my counsellor at, so just walking into Danny Woodhead Womens Jersey the house alone was quite nice because I thought my mum was probably running up and down these stairs causing carnage. Straight away it felt like home, so it was not intimidating in any way. We spoke openly, freely, honestly. We cried, we laughed. You come out feeling free. It is not over, Womens Robby Anderson Jersey it is not a case of I have had a couple of counselling sessions and off I go but I am a lot stronger.” cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys from china wholesale nfl jerseys from china cheap nfl jerseys wholesale nfl jerseys wholesale nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys

Please Read Before Posting / Jack Wilshere Jersey
« on: March 22, 2018, 08:16:39 PM »
It was in early August, with the new Premier League season primed, when Arsène Wenger delivered the news Jack Wilshere dreaded. The midfielder had been working up a sweat on an exercise bike in the gym at Arsenal’s training ground when the manager ambled over and left the spin session stalled. “It was an honest conversation,” Wilshere recalls. “It had been boiling up for a while. Everybody knew I had a year left on my deal and had been out on loan, got injured and wasn’t really in his plans. He just said: ‘At the moment we are not going to be offering you a contract so, if you can get one somewhere else, you can go.’”

Almost eight months on and, as he sits in the Futsal hall at St George’s Park, it is easier for Wilshere to reflect on such a painful memory even though, in essence, not much has changed. Arsenal’s stance may have shifted to the extent they have made a contract Womens Willie Stargell Jersey offer, albeit on a reduced basic wage of around £80,000 a week Dante Fabbro Womens Jersey with significant incentives for a player whose body had proved so brittle. But, while Wilshere’s priority is to stay, he will not do so on those terms, leaving discussions at an impasse. With interest from Everton, West Ham and Juventus, the possibility remains that he could this summer leave the club he joined at the age of nine.

Yet, around the issue of his long-term future, the landscape has shifted dramatically. http://www.authenticislanderstore.com/gordie-howe-jersey_c-450.html Wilshere, for one, is clad in England training gear as he talks and is preparing to earn a first cap since Iceland and the national team’s humiliating departure from Euro 2016. His fitness has held and he has amassed more club appearances this season – 31 – than in any campaign since 2013-14, despite remaining among the Europa League and Carabao Cup fringe contingent until late November. He has even worn the captain’s armband, with his heavy involvement over the last few months and recall to the England set-up the reward for bold choices: whether that loan move to Bournemouth last season or his determination to prove he warranted a role at Arsenal this time round.
“Obviously I wasn’t happy with what the manager had said but, at the same time, part of me knew all this already,” he says. http://www.panthershopnflonline.com/SUPER-BOWL-BRENTON-BERSIN-JERSEY “All I needed was some clarity on where I stood at the football club. How did I feel after? It did make me think. He’d said I could fight for my position and, if I performed well in the Carabao Cup and Europa League, I’d have a chance. I had three or four weeks left in the transfer window but I didn’t find anything I wanted and at the same time I wasn’t really fit. So Womens Seth Curry Jersey I decided to build up my fitness. I always had confidence I could get back into the midfield, and keep my place, if I was fit.
“I’d been in a similar situation the previous year. I’d come back from the Euros and picked up an injury in pre-season and, for the first few games, I was not in the team. I knew I had to play at that stage of my career because, the year before, I had missed a lot of football [an ankle injury had restricted him to three appearances for Arsenal]. I couldn’t just be coming on from the bench, so I went to Bournemouth. A lot of people disagreed with that decision but I played a lot of games and proved to myself I still could.
“So when the boss said I could leave, I wasn’t still thinking: ‘I need to get out and play games.’ It was more of a case of getting fully fit and showing what I could do. When I was at Bournemouth, getting back here was always the aim. This is where I wanted to be.”
That sense of satisfaction stems from his restoration with club and country. Arsenal have leant on their long-serving midfielder through the trauma of recent weeks, his http://www.officialauthenticknights.com/Adidas-Authentic-Brad-Hunt-Jersey displays offering encouragement as another Authentic Nick Boyle Jersey campaign fizzles out prematurely on all but a European front and earning praise from such as Milan’s Gennaro Gattuso. For Gareth Southgate, a manager juggling midfield options, the 26-year-old’s return to fitness is timely. England have four friendlies before they confront Tunisia in Volgograd. Wilshere will have a chance to prove he warrants significant involvement.
“I’ve always loved representing my country and it’s something I’ve missed,” he says. “But I never gave up hope I’d do it again. I’ve always felt this is somewhere I belong. Now it’s down to me to stake my claim. I’m not doing much different from in the past but, if I do not feel quite up to it, maybe I’ll miss a day rather than think I can get through it now. Also, I’m not going in for stupid tackles, which helps. That’s part of growing up and maturing.”

Please Read Before Posting / James Tarkowski Jersey
« on: March 21, 2018, 11:41:21 PM »
The general view of Burnley as a long-ball outfit meant that the logic behind Gareth Southgate’s decision to hand James Tarkowski a first England call-up last week was not immediately obvious. After all, what hope could there ever be for an unheralded defender from one of the Premier League’s more direct teams when Southgate has cast Manchester United’s Chris Smalling into the international wilderness because he is not good enough on the ball?

Appearances Devin McCourty Authentic Jersey can be deceptive, however, because while the focus for Tarkowski has been on getting the basics right this season, http://www.footballvikingsofficialshop.com/Xavier_Rhodes_Jersey he possesses a pedigree as a passer. “Maybe some of you have written that I’m an old-fashioned English defender but before I joined Burnley no one ever said those words about me,” the 25-year-old said at St George’s Park. “I was more a ball-playing centre-half, playing out from the back in a Brentford team that took a lot of chances.”
That willingness to throw caution to the wind worked against Tarkowski when he joined Burnley in 2016. Sean Dyche had a different philosophy. He wanted his http://www.authenticbrewershop.com/authentic-8-ryan-braun-jersey.html new signing to improve at the ugly side of the game and Tarkowski spent last season below Michael Keane in the pecking order.
“When I went to Burnley it sort of flipped it on its head,” he said. “We take a lot less chances but do the basics Authentic Mike Tolbert Jersey right. That has really brought my game on, keeping it quite simple at times but doing the defending – the most important stuff – right.”
Having worked tirelessly to adapt to Dyche’s ethos in training, Tarkowski was ready to step up when Keane joined Everton last summer. The Burnley manager had quietly advised him that Keane was probably going to leave and Tarkowski, who also qualifies for Poland through his paternal grandfather, has seized his opportunity to impress this season, playing a pivotal role in Burnley’s rise to seventh place in the Premier League.
Keane has fallen out of contention after flailing at Everton this season, but understanding Tarkowski’s appeal to Southgate requires looking beyond Burnley having the fourth best defensive Matthew Tkachuk Jersey record in the Premier League. Southgate, who watched him play in the Championship for Brentford, likes centre-backs with technical ability. He has favoured Leicester’s Harry Maguire over Smalling and dropped Chelsea’s Gary Cahill for the friendlies against the Netherlands and Italy.
Those tough calls have left England looking short of stature and experience at the back. There is no one of the calibre of Sol Campbell, Rio Ferdinand or John Terry in this squad and although England kept clean sheets after switching to a back three for the November friendlies against Germany and Brazil, it is difficult not to suspect that defensive vulnerabilities could undermine them at the World Cup. Swansea’s Alfie Mawson and Liverpool’s Joe Gomez are promising but raw, http://www.officialsseahawksshop.com/Deshawn_Shead_Jersey_Cheap Manchester City’s John Stones still has much to prove at the highest level and Eric Dier has played only a handful of games in defence for Tottenham this season. Ryan Bertrand also pulled out of the squad on Tuesday with a back injury.
Yet at least Southgate has a clear idea of how he wants his team to play. “The game’s changed,” Tarkowski said. “That Barcelona team made everyone think: ‘This is the way football’s got to be now,’ so everyone went to 4-3-3 and opened the pitch up as much as they could.
Striking the right balance will be crucial. “Sergio Ramos, people might say he’s a ball-playing centre half, but he still does the dirty stuff right,” Tarkowski said. “He sticks his head in when he needs to. He’s scored a lot of big goals for Real Madrid, putting his head in the box and getting on the end of crosses. wholesale nfl jerseys cheap jerseys cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys cheap jerseys wholesale nfl jerseys

« on: March 21, 2018, 06:14:19 PM »
And so it ends? If, that is, it hadn’t already – and if it ever really started. “I feel like I lost it,” Diego Simeone said. It was Sunday evening on the east coast and he meant the game, but in all probability it was the title too. Defeated 2-1 by Villarreal, at the final whistle Atlético Madrid’s manager gazed at nothing in particular, an empty look on his face as all around him people celebrated. An old man enthusiastically shook the hand of the man next to him, a solitary square of yellow confetti settled on his tweed hat, while Simeone’s team trudged past towards the tunnel. Vitolo had led the way seconds before, sent off for the http://www.raidersfootballprostore.com/WOMENS_YOUTH_JACK_TATUM_JERSEY.html first time, and now they followed, knowing that, barring a miracle, the league had just come to a close at the Ceramic Stadium, two months early.

“Is it over?” Simeone was asked afterwards, to which he said something about winning lots of games and seeing where they are with five weeks to go. But with nine weeks left, Atlético are probably too far off and he could have been forgiven for offering a shorter, simpler answer: “Probably.” On Sunday afternoon, Barcelona defeated Athletic Bilbao 2-0 and that, plus Atlético’s defeat, leaves Simeone’s side 11 points and head-to-head goal difference behind the leaders. “It’s finished!” ran the shout on the radio and most agreed: any small, lingering hope Atlético had of becoming champions again, already radically reduced since that loss at the Camp Nou a fortnight ago, slipped through their fingers.
“There’s no explanation,” Saúl said. “It was strange; this doesn’t happen often.” He was right, it doesn’t. Ever. Not even against Villarreal, the team Atlético hadn’t beaten in Eric Fehr Womens Jersey four. At half-time, Atlético were 1-0 up, Villarreal’s president Fernando Roig going down to tell the referee he’d got it wrong when he gave diving Antoine Griezmann an early penalty. Thirty-five times Simeone’s side have led 1-0 at half time, and they’d never lost. With 10 minutes to go, they were still a goal up. Atlético were relentlessly atléticoing again, in control and on course for a ninth 1-0 of the season, a 19th clean sheet. To make sure, Greizmann came off and Gabi went on. A minute later, Enes Unal made it 1-1. Eight minutes after that, with virtually the last kick of the game, Unal scored again, his sixth of the season – five for Villarreal, one for Levante.
No wonder Simeone was blaming himself. “I lost it: the players made a huge effort and I didn’t help them,” he said. “It’s not his fault,” insisted Saúl, but there was something in Simeone’s confession. “Unal punishes el Cholo,” ran the headline in AS. In the match report below, Patricia Cazón was reeling off Clint Eastwood’s films, linking them to key moments of a game which she said had had started on the porch, rifle in hand like Gran Torino; in which Griezmann’s penalty had been shot like Dirty Harry; the match became a fight and the pitch a ring, Million Dollar Baby-style; and Authentic Shaun Alexander Jersey in which there was, of course, the good, the bad and ultimately the ugly too. One film she didn’t mention was Never say Goodbye, and Simeone wasn’t saying that but they surely know they may soon have to and everyone else Cameron Brate Jersey was doing it for them. Three pages on, Picu Díaz insisted: “Defeat meant bidding adiós to the league.”
“Atlético say goodbye. If it looked impossible before, that’s a reality now,” agreed El País. “The final lights out – the remote chance they had disintegrated at the Cerámica,” said El Mundo. When Leo Messi had scored against Athletic a few hours earlier, he had done a dance. Well, a momentary wriggle, anyway – and that was enough. “The rhythm of a champion,” cheered El Mundo Deportivo. “This league is a dance,” said the cover of Sport. “It’s official: no one can keep up with Barcelona’s pace: the league is on a plate,” read the editorial. They said Barcelona can “smell” the league, which poses the question “what does the league smell of?” and sets you up to insert your own “fishy” here. The http://www.cardinalsnflofficialonlineshop.com/Josh-Bynes-Jersey front cover of AS, meanwhile, went for: “the league, done.” wholesale nfl jerseys cheap jerseys from china cheap jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys from china

« on: March 20, 2018, 07:58:26 PM »
To err is human, Rollie Fingers Youth jersey to forgive divine. As a coda to this: to err massively and hilariously is also human, as anyone who writes about sport can confirm. It is a common experience to find oneself wincing a little at the way things turn out in the real world, even when the way things turn out is also a source of pure sporting pleasure.

All of which is a prelude to a mea culpa. Yes: I was a Salah doubter. Or at least a nonplussed observer. My Guardian pre-season Premier League preview from last August contained the following dismissive summary of Jürgen Klopp’s transfer business: “Liverpool have bought a good left-back and spent an awful lot of money on Mohamed Salah.” Let’s just read that back. An awful. Lot of. Money. Mo Salah for £35m. Lol. Laughing weeping face emoji. Do I get paid for this stuff?
But then this is the joy and, indeed, the whole point of watching and playing sport. Whatever you say about it, http://www.officialsanaheimducks.com/Adidas-Josh-Manson-Jersey that’s what it’s not. It thumbs its nose, rips up your preconceptions.
In mitigation those tossed-off thoughts were written just before the four biggest transfers of all time took place, kicked off by the financial inanity of Neymar’s move to Paris Saint-Germain. Shortly afterwards Barcelona paid three times Salah’s fee for Ousmane Dembélé. By the end of the summer £35m was looking, if not small potatoes, then smaller potatoes. Right now it looks like one of the outstanding bargains of the last 10 years.
But then, even those who knew Salah’s game in intimate detail, who spoke Jon Bostic Youth jersey excitedly of his deeds in Serie A, will surely be a bit surprised at the sheer extent of his instant, exhilarating success under Klopp, a thing to be studied and marvelled at on its own terms.
With seven games to go Salah is the player of the season. He Womens Y.A. Tittle Jersey has 28 league goals, four more than Harry Kane and seven more than Sergio Agüero, capped by those four against Watford at the weekend. He also has nine assists, surpassed only by Leroy Sané and David Silva. Only Eden Hazard, Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend have made more successful dribbles. Only Kane has had more shots.
A nice touch too: despite playing in a bruising, full-throttle team Salah has yet to be shown any kind of card this season. There is a truism that good footballers need to have something nasty about them. Salah is merciless in many ways. But he kills you with a smile.
The numbers are, of course, just a part of it. It was not a goal or a man-of-the-match performance that revealed the full dawning Salah-ness of Salah to this observer. It was instead the 0-0 draw with Manchester United at Anfield in October, a game dominated by José Mourinho’s defensive organisation.
Even here Salah just stood out, the only player on the pitch able to turn and surge away through the defensive lines. He made eight dribbles in 73 minutes, more than United’s entire midfield http://www.officialnewyorkrangers.com/Adidas-Jimmy-Vesey-Jersey and attack put together. More than this, he seemed a relentlessly optimistic player, football as reinterpreted by a gerbil superhero. Legs whirring, head up, chest out.
Fast forward to Watford at the weekend and Salah has begun to make parts of the game look like a mismatch, the way only the very best can. The hat-trick goal at Anfield will remain one of the images of the season, those three Watford defenders squished together in front of Salah, tottering on their heels as this miracle of balance and speed springs to his left then springs back, leaving the yellow shirts collapsing helplessly like a row of derelict tenement houses. Even the finish is a lovely detail, the ball swished past Orestis Karnezis with an impudent playground shuffle. wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys wholesale nfl jerseys from china wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys

The FA Cup semi-finals will be an all‑Premier League affair after all. Wigan Athletic did their best to keep the League One flag flying but after eliminating three top-flight opponents in previous rounds they met their match in Southampton, who were anonymous at first but managed two goals and a missed penalty in the second half.

“I couldn’t ask any more of my players, we have represented League One in a very good way,” Paul Cook, the Wigan manager, said. “In the first half especially we were excellent, but though we felt we were playing well we probably didn’t work their goalkeeper enough. I was a bit fearful at half-time because we hadn’t got anything after being on top. Sure enough Southampton grew into the game and we found it hard to keep up our intensity.”

Wigan were by far the most positive team in the first half, as a staggering corner count of 10-0 suggests. They did not manage to fashion many clearcut chances, though they certainly matched their opponents for passing and movement, with Nathan Byrne putting in another excellent attacking display at right-back. The half-time conversations rightly centred how no one would have guessed two divisions separated the teams, although that actually did Wigan scant justice. If anyone looked like a Premier League team it was the home side.
The only worry at that point was that Wigan had not succeeded in taking the lead from any of the goalmouth situations they had created. It was not a case of profligate finishing, they just could not find the final pass to split open the Southampton defence. Chey Dunkley came close midway through the first half but could not turn the ball in after Byrne’s shot http://www.cowboysfootballofficialprostore.com/YOUTH+EZEKIEL+ELLIOTT+JERSEY took a deflection. Michael Jacobs http://www.raidersnflofficialproshop.com/YOUTH+KHALIL+MACK+JERSEY went on a solo run past most of the Southampton defence only to choose the wrong option when he reached the area. When he sent in a cross for Will Grigg just before the interval the striker could not quite reach it.
All Southampton had managed before the break were a couple of hopeful shots from Sofiane Boufal and Mario Lemina, though the visitors emerged looking a little more Aaron Altherr Jersey determined and should have gone in front just before the hour when a rare Byrne mistake Authentic Malcolm Smith Jersey led to the clearest opening of the game. The full-back’s square ball ran straight through to the unmarked Manolo Gabbiadini by the penalty spot. The Italian should have scored but he too appeared to be taken by surprise and a less than decisive finish allowed Christian Walton to come out and close him down.
The Wigan goalkeeper also saved when Pierre-Emile Højbjerg headed powerfully towards goal from a Southampton corner, though when Dusan Tadic sent over another one a minute later http://www.footballbillsofficialstore.com/Logan-Thomas-Jersey.html the Danish midfielder player made the breakthrough with his first goal in English football. Perhaps Wigan were expecting a header, for when Højbjerg met the corner with a first-time shot neither Dan Burn nor Walton on the line could keep it out. Southampton had won three corners to Wigan’s 11 at that point. Crucially they were able to make one count.
Cook was not going to give up on his Wembley dream without a fight, and his response was to send on two forwards in Ryan Colclough and Nick Powell, even though the latter was barely over a hamstring injury. It appeared Wigan might be punished for their ambition when Burn brought Gabbiadini down in the area to concede a penalty, but though the striker took the spot-kick himself and struck his effort firmly, Walton guessed correctly, springing Andrei Vasilevskiy Jersey to his left to make a wonderful save.
That at least allowed Wigan to keep hoping for the last 20 minutes, though Southampton brought their experience to bear to close the game out. The substitute Noel Hunt was unable to take a difficult opportunity as the match moved into stoppage time, before the end to Wigan’s remarkable run http://www.giantsfootballofficialonline.com/YOUTH+DWAYNE+HARRIS+JERSEY was finally sealed by Cédric Soares. The full‑back came up with an inspired headed touch to take out Callum Elder from Nathan Redmond’s pass, and once in the penalty area found it easy to sidefoot past Walton. Two new scorers took Southampton to Wembley. “It’s difficult to say it’s a new start because it is the middle of the season,” Højbjerg said. “But we have a new manager and we are at Wembley so it feels like things are looking up.”
Mark Hughes did not disagree. “In the short time I’ve been here I have seen good quality and application,” he said. “Maybe some players at the club have been a little bit hurt by Womens Stan Mikita Jersey the criticism that has come their way, but we made good decisions today. We knew we needed to be a little more dominant in the second half, and we were able to step it up. We could have won 3-0 with the penalty, but that would not have been a fair reflection of the game.”

Please Read Before Posting / Danny Welbeck double eases Arsenal
« on: March 19, 2018, 12:51:54 AM »
Danny Welbeck thought about it. He had felt the slightest touch from the Milan left-back, Ricardo Rodríguez, inside the area and he went down. The official behind the goal thought about it some more. The seconds ticked by. Milan were http://www.officialhornetsproshop.com/authentic-0-spencer-hawes-jersey.html unconcerned. But then, a crackle across the airwaves and there was the Swedish referee, Jonas Eriksson, pointing to the spot. Milan erupted with rage. Arsenal could sense their place in the Europa League quarter-finals.

Welbeck scored and, at long last, Arsène Wenger could feel his luck was in. The Arsenal manager’s team had trailed to Hakan Calhanoglu’s long-range blast and, at that point, things could have turned angsty. Instead, Welbeck had them back in charge.

The impression it was Arsenal’s night was reinforced when Granit Xhaka made the tie safe on 71 minutes. Again, there had been little hint of danger. The midfielder’s shot from outside the area looked routine for Gianluigi Donnarumma. Yet the young Cam Neely Authentic Jersey hope of Italian goalkeeping fumbled dreadfully and that was that. There was even time for Welbeck to add a late third, after Donnarumma had parried Aaron Ramsey’s header.
There were fears beforehand of another low Emirates Stadium turnout; more refuseniks angry at the club’s direction under Wenger. It did not materialise and there was something fortifying about the sight of a virtual full house roaring the team on. The official attendance of 58,973 looked right, for a change.
Milan came to play and they were understandably aggrieved about the penalty, even if the manager, Rino Gattuso, refused to use it as http://www.authenticslightningstore.com/-48-brett-howden-jersey_c-461.html an “alibi” for the defeat. Arsenal wobbled at the start and they were relieved when the Milan striker André Silva – in yards of space – found only the side-netting http://www.authenticcelticstore.com/authentic-2-red-auerbach-jersey.html after 46 seconds. But Wenger’s team tried to get on to the front foot and they created chances.
This competition has long since come to resemble a shot at salvation for the club and, possibly, Wenger too. The dream of crashing into the Champions League via the back door continues to burn.
Calhanoglu fashioned his goal out of nothing. He cut Andre Smith Jersey across his right-footed shot from 25 yards and got the ball to dip and fade into the far corner. David Ospina was powerless. The fear from the Arsenal point of view was it would prompt a collective panic; a reawakening of the demons that have gripped them all too regularly this season. But as the crowd stayed with them, they responded – with a helping hand from the officials.
When Welbeck went down, Wenger’s words from last month resonated. “I remember there were tremendous cases here when foreign players did it,” he said, with regard to diving. “But English players have learned very quickly and they might be the masters now.” The Italian media put questions to Gattuso about how England had once been considered as the land of fair play. Not here.
Welbeck’s conversion was clinical and Milan would be further incensed moments later when Calum Chambers, who had replaced Laurent Koscielny – the victim of a back injury – felt the ball hit his hand inside the area. No penalty.
Arsenal were Dallas Stars Authentic Jersey not convincing at the back but they could point to a clutch of chances in the first half. Welbeck put a move on Leonardo Bonucci in the 25th minute before seeing Donnarumma block at the near post; Ramsey worked the goalkeeper immediately after Calhanoglu’s goal and, in first half stoppage time, Welbeck touched back for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who nodded wide, and Jack Wilshere extended Donnarumma with a decent hit. cheap jerseys from china wholesale nfl jerseys from china cheap nfl jerseys cheap nfl jerseys wholesale nfl jerseys cheap jerseys
